The Grunch of Giants is invisible. R. Buckminster Fuller explains that Grunch consists of limited-liability corporate abstract beings that need no passports to travel across international borders.
Further, the Grunch has stolen the “know-how” for their profits from the U.S. government through the U.S.’s development of nuclear and wartime technologies. This has all occurred in the name of protecting the United States. And such development of technology and the giving of it to the Grunch of Giants was really funded by the U.S. people or the taxpayer.
R. Buckminster Fuller explains that controlling the physical-energy generators directly control the national economies (Grunch of Giants pg. 42). R. Buckminster Fuller points to J.P. Morgan as a prime example in deriving wealth from energy:
J.P. Morgan…realized that: whoever developed, manufactured, installed, and controlled the physical-energy generators ant the metered-energy distribution and cut-off system could and would control the national economies into which they were physically introduced. The air we breath was everywhere so plentiful that its availability could not readily be monopolized. There were too many ponds, lakes, rivers, brooks, and wells to make the metered water-supply systems a generally monopolizable business.
(Grunch of Giants, pg. 42)
Furthermore, such development of physical-energy generators “required the availability and ability to employee vast monetary resources. J.P. Morgan accomplished this by means of banking and selling bonds and stocks. The instrument of the stock market is governed by the goal of creating the greatest wealth for the shareholders. What this means is that these stock-driven corporations act only as an abstract, global-magnitude legal entity and that they have “no human-community consideration other than as potential customers, consumers, or fighting-force conscriptees.” (Grunch of Giants, pg. 40). what this means is that this corporate colossus known as Grunch of Giants monopolizes, bends all to its will through its army of corporate lawyers, buys off politicians, and voraciously exploits both government, lands, and people in its quest for wealth.
What’s more, Fuller explains that the “U.S. peoples’ legal ownership and control of their economic assets, have been altogether explited, susurped, or stolen from them by the invisibly integrated, supranational corporate giants. The Grunch has conducted its ruthlessly selfish activity always in the name of the U.S.A people” (Grunch of Giants, pg. 39).
For example, Fuller argues that since supranational corporate giants have known that oil and fossil fuels would run out, they pushed for the U.S. government to “develop superior atomic war capability, knowing full well that atomic warfare will terminate human occupancy of planet Earth, which fact would eventually force the government to abandon its war use” (Grunch of Giants, pg. 45). To this end, the Grunch sought to develop the costly nuclear technology at the government’s expense only to siphone off from the U.S. government all its nuclear personal and technology.
And how does the Grunch profit from this nuclear technology that has been developed by the U.S. government? R. Buckminster Fuller explains that the nuclear technology developed by the government as well as the nuclear personnel was taken over by U.S. corporations. These corporations who supply armaments, or what Eisenhower called the military-industrial complex (Grunch of Giants, pg. 40), make an enormous profit from the government purchasing armaments. This is an extremley, extremely profitable business for the Grunch. The Grunch has infiltrated the government and uses its powerful lobbying arm as well as the Congressmen that it has purchased in order to further its goals of awarding itself more and more armament contracts.
For example, in 1982, in a year when there was roughly a 100 billion budget deficientcy, the supranationals, or Grunch, was able to influence the U.S. government to pass legislation that funded 6 trillion in U.S. defense spending (Grunch of Giants, pg. 53). Fuller explains that the Grunch is able to achieve its armament objectives “by pulling the strings of the finance-shackled and lobby-locked congressional puppets to make them pass the requisite legislation.” “Thus, the collussus (Grunch of Giants) now (early 1982) has in production the necessary first-things-first of it sultimate ten-year, multi-trillion-dollar procurement, world-published as being ‘U.S.A. national defense activity’ (Grunch of Giants, pg. 52).
