What does “Grunch” mean?
In Chapter 1 of Grunch of Giants, Buckminster Fuller explains that the Grunch is a “invisible, abstract, legal-contrivance army of giants.” To this end, Fuller invents the designation “GRUNCH” which stands for Gross Universal Cash Heist, which is really what the Grunch of Giants book is all about. Buckminster Fuller further elucidates that the Grunch pays annual dividends of over 1 trillion US dollars.
How Old is the Grunch of Giants?
The age of the Grunch of Giants is on average 34 years (or so it was at the time Fuller wrote Grunch of Giants). The Grunch grew out of “what Eisenhowever called the post-World War II industrial complex. They are not the same as the pre WWII international copper or tin cartels.”
Is the Grunch invisible?
The Grunch of Giants is composed of the many “corporately interlocked owners of a vast invisible empire.” This empire includes airwaves, satellites, as well as a large visible empire of skyscrapers and crowded cities. The frightening fact is that much of the Grunch of Giants is invisible. Just as it is hard to track down or identify a terrorist organization, say Al-Qaeda for example, the Grunch is also a vast network of invisible hosts engaged in the same goal, to control the worlds money and to profit from its citizens.
The way in which the Grunch of Giants is most invisible is that its members include businesses and entities that we would never think of as being connected with the Grunch, or that is to say the “Gross Universal Cash Heist.” And what does Heist mean? According to some sources, “A heist is a term used to describe a robbery from an institution such as a bank or a museum, or any robbery in which there is a large haul of loot.” And this is exactly what the Grunch does. The Grunch profits and steals from the citizens of the world.
What does the Grunch of Giants control?
In addition to controlling a vast invisible empire, the empire of the Grunch also includes the research laboratories, and most importantly the financial credit market.. To our detriment the Grunch “controls all the world’s banks…even the…Swiss banks. It does what its lawyers tell it to…. It monopolizes know-where and know-how but is devoid of know-why. It is preoccupeid with absolute selfishness and its guaranteed gratifications.” (page 2)
The Grunch has the power to stop famine but does not
As a body of selfish self-focused corporate and other groupings, the Grunch can easily bring death by starvation to and end but chooses not to as such an agenda would not profit the Grunch.
As Fuller explains,
“Each day of each year, year after year, a 75,000 capacity stadium full of…humans perish from starvation…despite an annual average 5%” overage in world food production.” The daily deaths of these innocents dwarfs the terri Auschwitz ble killing.”
While Grunch did not bring this about, it would only take 3% of Grunch’s annual profits to keep these people from starving.
And again, the lie is that we live in a world of scarcity. In fact the debate about capitalism vs. communism both falsely assume a paradigm of scarcity as do the major 4 world religions.
Buckminster Fuller further explains in Grunch of Giants that the scarcity paradigm that the world is operating under is both antiquated and dangerous to the well being of humanity. He argues, “Humanity is so specialized…that…for the first time in history, it does not have to be “you or me”–there is now enough for ‘both.’” However, the trouble then becomes to convince humanity of this fact in time for humanity to save itself “before someone ignorantly pushes the button that provokes pushing of all the buttons (meaning a nuclear holocaust that is the result of war which results from this scarcity paradigm).
